Health Guarantee Terms and Conditions

The puppy was examined by a Licensed Veterinarian and was determined to be in good health. The puppy will receive their first set of vaccinations, that are age appropriate, dewclaws removed, along with an examination, The parents have received screening through the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of Animals). Genetics have all been tested on the parents. Due to the unknown hereditary causes of defects related to potential defects in their health, a limited guarantee is provided.  

If the puppy should develop any hereditary conditions before the puppy’s first birthday (including but not limited to severe hip / elbow dysplasia, grade 3 or above heart murmur, or hereditary eye conditions, buyer agrees to have the puppy x rayed by a vet for confirmation of the diagnosis.  Diagnosis must be  confirmed by an official OFA preliminary consultation. Breeder will then replace the puppy, or the buyer  may keep the puppy and the breeder will refund up to half the purchase price.  In the case of replacing the puppy, the original puppy must be returned to Family Golden Legacy in good mental and physical condition.

We do try to breed particular physical characteristics such as color, size, and temperament. We will not be responsible for any refunds or replacements of your puppy if these characteristics we outline before breeding are not achieved. Even though we study genetics and characteristics, mother nature is still in charge and ultimately is the deciding factor of what your puppy will look like when fully grown (at approximately 12-14 months of age).

We are not liable for any veterinarian expenses after leaving our property. 

We will not be responsible for any communicable disease that is contracted after the puppy leaves our property.

Puppies sold with limited AKC, the buyer will have the Dog spayed or neutered by the age of 12 months. Proof must be sent to the breeder. Failure to comply, a $3,000.00 fine will be assessed, along with any legal fees. Absolutely no breeding is allowed for puppies with limited AKC, these puppies are sold as family members only. If it is found that the dog with limited AKC was bred (Pure or Mixed) the dog will be confiscated by the seller, at the buyer’s expense plus all legal fees, along with a $10,000 fine.  

 The Dog will reside with Buyer as companion pet to Buyer and Buyer’s family. 

Buyer will keep the Dog in an enclosed area of adequate size. Buyers will not keep the Dog chained or tethered or permanently housed in a kennel. 

Buyer will provide the Dog with nutritious food and necessary veterinary care, including deworming, heartworm prevention and regular vaccinations (including rabies). 

Buyer is not acting as agent for any other person or business in the purchase of the Dog. 

Buyer will not sell, give, or release the Dog to a pet shop, retail store, dog dealer, animal testing facility, research facility, or an agent for any such business or facility. 

In the event Buyer sells the Dog to a new owner, Buyer shall ensure that the new owner agrees in writing to comply with the terms of this Agreement. Guarantee is not transferable.
